Visiting Pilot Information
Visiting pilots who are
holders of valid glider pilot licenses can obtain a
Canadian permit from either our Authorized Personnel or by
contacting Transport Canada directly.
Transport Canada's contact person in Vancouver, British Columbia is Jake Woelk and can be reached via e-mail at: woelkj@tc.gc.ca. In order to issue the permit you must provide originals of a valid passport (valid for at least one year), an international glider pilot license, as well as a valid medical certificate.
At least two check flights will be required with one of our qualified instructors before any of our gliders can be rented out solo.
Training schedules will be tailored to fit your personal priorities and can include Mountain flying checks for qualified pilots. Advanced Soaring Training is available as well. Techniques include finding and sustaining flight using thermals, ridge and wave lift, as well as cross-country training, which can lead to attainment of internationally recognized badges.
